Every figure on the state and military base pages is published here as CSV and JSON: 51 state records (50 states plus D.C.) and 119 installation records with 2026 BAH for every pay grade. Data last updated September 2026.

Downloads

The JSON files carry the same rows as the CSV files under records, plus the field dictionary, source list, license, and update date. states.json also includes each state's single-filer income-tax brackets.

License and attribution

The compiled datasets are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share, and adapt them, including commercially, as long as you credit CompareTheData.com and link to comparethedata.com/data/.

Figures from U.S. government agencies (DTMO, HUD, the Census Bureau, NOAA, the FBI, the Department of Labor, the National Park Service) are public domain at their source. Tax Foundation, WalletHub, and Experian/Zillow figures are reported from those publishers; cite them as well when you reuse those columns.

Updates and caveats

The files are regenerated with the site whenever the data is reviewed (most recently September 2026); BAH changes each January and HUD rents each fiscal year. Blank cells mean the source does not publish that figure for the place. Rates are statewide or area figures for comparison, not a tax return or a rent quote. See the methodology for how each figure is compiled.
