CompareTheData.com is a data comparison website. We put numbers side by side so you can see how things differ: taxes, costs, people, rules, and whatever else is useful to line up.

You can compare U.S. states and U.S. military bases today. States cover things like income and sales tax, vehicle title costs, parks, demographics, and nurse-license rules. Bases cover BAH, housing, and climate by installation, using official pay tables where they apply. More comparisons will show up over time.

The aim is a larger library of datasets that can sit next to each other in the same format. New topics will be added when the numbers are worth lining up and the sources can be trusted. Whenever possible we use official, authoritative sources: government agencies, published tables, and other primary records. We keep the presentation simple so the difference is easy to see.

If a figure needs context, we try to put that next to the number instead of burying it. This is not a dashboard for its own sake. It is a place to put two things, or fifty, next to each other without hunting through a dozen sites.
